Wondering how you can use your mobile devices on an educational visit?

In our one day CPD event, we aim to provide inspiration for teachers who want to explore the potential to use iPads to support cross-curricular English and Computing activities. by making use of an educational visit to inspire student writing and creative storytelling.Participants will select from a series of "missions" aimed at developing your iPad skills in KS1 & KS2.  Every mission seeks to unleash your creativity and provide you with inspirational ideas for activities you can run with your own class both during and after a visit to Beamish.

So far, visited by around 160 learners from schools in the West & East locality - The theme of this years conference is "Don't be a bystander be a power for good"

The "Risk Factor" keynote was delivered by Mark Lloyd from Knetic Education with the aim of empowering children and young peopla to take responsibility for their online behavour and encourage them to help their friends to evaluate and minimise the riske they take online. Workshops were also delivered to raise awareness of Child Sexual Exploitation and the problems faced by adults with learning difficlulties. The conference goers were also offered the chance to become the "Risk Factor" judges in the photobooth.

Schools were offered the opportunity to enter a competition win an iPad by submitting and anti-bullying poem and the yongsters were challenged to take over a notice board in school to raise awareness of new apps and how to use them safely.
